Helping Hazelight tell their stories.
When award-winning film and game director Josef Fares called us for help with the brand identity for his new studio, we couldn’t wait to jump on it. We pitched a concept, and worked with Josef and his in-house Art Director Claes Engdal to develop a visual foundation that could continue to grow alongside the newly formed development studio.
After having directed ‘Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons’ for Starbreeze Studios, Josef and his team decided to do the next game under their own wings. Focusing on story driven experiences and innovation, Hazelight needed an identity that exuded those values.
The Hazelight logotype plays with the idea of storytelling and adventures, with it’s missing pieces waiting to be found. We also developed animation concepts, a stand alone symbol based on the incomplete vertical H, and a set of business cards following the same style.
The Digital Presence
Hazelight also asked us to create a concept for their digital presence, that could serve as a starting point for their future website, online marketing and digital campaigns. The concept uses dramatic black and white imaging combined with a simple foundation to create an easily maintainable and expandable system for the digital brand.
